Esther McCoy
Esther McCoy is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. She attended Lanier High School, which is located in the Georgetown area. She extended her educational pursuits at Jackson State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree (Elementary Education), Master's Degree (Elementary Education), Specialist Degree in Early Childhood /Elementary Education.
 
She has worked in the Jackson Public Schools for over twenty years. Having worked in the capacities of classroom teacher, Success for All Certified Tutor Teacher, and currently a MLI Literacy Coach at George Elementary School, Mrs. McCoy enjoys working and researching best practices used in the field of literacy.
 
She is a faithful and dedicated member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, under the auspices of Rev./Dr. Leon Bell. She is an active servant, functioning as the pastor's Special Prayer Request Communication Clerk, Member of the Sanctuary Choir, and Young Ladies Missionary Society. Her philosophy is "All children can learn". She also firmly believes in the saying, 'If a child can't learn the way we teach, then we must teach the way he can learn."
